This volume does not include the box cover art, nor the full colour maps which came with the original game (which are available separately). The original back cover was blank, and has been replaced with wording from a flyer included with the original TSR Empire of the Petal Throne boxed set. This is a reproduction of the original Tactical Studies Rules edition, with some later additions including errata, reference charts, a black and white map of the city of Jakálla, a map of Tsolyánu, and maps of the Five Empires. A reprint was later published by Different Worlds Publications in 1984, and then later by Tita’s House of Games in 2003. Barker and the Tékumel Foundation ART-F-0004-O Empire of the Petal Throne was originally published as a boxed set by Tactical Studies Rules in 1975.
